Why are Concessions important?
Concession event staffing provides a large portion of the funding used to support music in the Sun Prairie Middle Schools and High School.  Volunteering helps raise money for the Band Boosters and its members.  Here is just a sample of what these funds help support:
  • Band trips to nearby colleges and high schools
  • Hands-on time with highly renowned clinicians and great music clinics
  • Sound of Sun Prairie fees and equipment
  • Solo ensemble
  • Summer band camps

Volunteer opportunities include:
  • Taste of Madison
  • UW Football
  • UW Men's BasketBall
  • Madison Marathon
  • other opportunities

Miscellaneous Volunteer Information:
  • Taste of Madison –
    • Workers must be at least 21 years of age to work in alcoholic beverage stand (18 with parent)  
    • Workers must be at least 14 years of age to work in the soda stand
    • At least one person working in the alcoholic beverage stand must have been TIPS trained
    • Volunteer duties include - counting inventory/selling product
    • Stand Manager is needed to:  Open stand/manage inventory and money
  • UW Events
    • Workers must be at least 16 years of age.
    • Workers under 18 must have a release signed by parent, for every game they work.  
      • ​Click here to download the Levy - Minor Indemnity and Release Form.  Use for all UW Events 
    • Workers must wear black or khaki pants and close toed shoes. 
    • Shirts and hats are provided when they arrive and must be returned at the end of the shift.
    • Parking is not provided and carpooling is recommended. 
    • Workers arrive 2 1/2 hours before basketball and 3 hours prior to football start times.  Stand Managers should arrive 3 1/2 hrs prior for football games
    • Volunteer duties include: counting inventory/wrapping hot dogs, hamburgers, and brats/prepping nachos/general cleaning.  Depending on the event, workers are assigned to cashier, runner, prepping, or soda.
    • Stand Manager(s) are needed to: Open stand/manage inventory and money and direct volunteers
  • Madison Marathon
    • ​Workers must be at least 14 years of age to work
    • Volunteer duties include: count Inventory/prep/cleanup
    • Manager will direct volunteers during the event and will pickup and drop off truck for event

How do I sign up to work?
  1. Sign up for Concession is now being managed by the Charms Volunteer Calendar - you will find this off of the Concession tab - Volunteer Calendar
  2. Click on the hand to sign up on open slots for the events.
  3. Additional slots have been created for standby workers for each events.  
  4. Please only signup for Manager Slots if you previously managed events.  If you are interested in working as a stand manager, please send an email to the concession chairs.
