About SPHS Wind Ensemble:

The Sun Prairie High School Wind Ensemble is a collection of the most advanced musicians in the Sun Prairie Band Program.  The Wind Ensemble often participates in the commissioning of new works via a commission consortium and has hosted several composers in residence.  Composers who have been on campus include: Charles Rochester Young, Jonathan Newman, Richard Saucedo, Michael Markowski, Michael Daugherty, Wataru Hokayama, David Maslanka, Kimberly Archer, Jim Bonney and Samuel Hazo.

The Wind Ensemble has also performed numerous times at the Wisconsin State Music convention and regional MENC conventions.  They also performed at the Music Educators National Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  The band has been fortunate to be invited to share concerts with the UW-Stevens Point Wind Ensemble, Frank Ticheli guest conductor and the UW-Madison Wind Ensemble, Scott Teeple, Director and Carroll University Wind Ensemble, Larry Harper, Director.
