7th Grade Band NewsletterAbout 7th Grade Band at Prairie ViewPrairie View Middle School currently has two 7th grade bands that meet for 44 minutes every day. Students also receive small group instruction once a week through the Band Lesson Program. At Prairie View, we strive to provide students with a comprehensive musical foundation on their instrument; one that will pave the way to a successful and well-rounded future as a Sun Prairie Band Member. (we also have a great deal of FUN doing so!) Sun Prairie has a long standing rich tradition of excellent bands.
Seventh graders at Prairie View Middle School work toward 6 performances during the school year including the district-wide Band-O-Rama concert and the Memorial Day Parade in downtown Sun Prairie. Additionally, students also have the option to participate in several additional performances including Sun Prairie Middle Level Honor Band, a tour of our feeder elementary schools, a middle school band festival at UW Whitewater, Tuba Christmas, Solo & Ensemble, High School Epoch Sound (pep-band) Night, and the district-wide Swing Into Spring Jazz Extravaganza. Students are eligible to audition for the State Middle Level Honors Band, as well as other performing experiences. |
