2013 Jazz I Essentially Ellington Competition

Congratulations to Jazz I for being selected to compete at the 2013 Essentially Ellington Competition May 10 - 12 in New York!!!  Want more information on upcoming events, raffles, pictures?  Check out the links below.

  • Raffle tickets can be purchased from any of the Jazz I students, Jazz Chairs or at upcoming events.  Raffle tickets are just $5 each or 5 for $20.  Here is a partial list of some of the fantastic prizes:

  • Jazz I will be performing at many events leading up to departing for New York.  You can help Jazz I raise money by attending these events.  Raffle tickets will also be sold at many of the events.  
    • April 9, 7:30 PM - Jazz concert at Sun Prairie High School PAC featuring the SPHS Jazz I, II, III, bands and the Jazz Combo
    • April 12, 3:30 - 10 PM - Launchpad at Sun Prairie High School PAC.  Note: Jazz I does not play but concessions will be sold to raise money
    • April 15, 7 PM - Band-O-Rama at Sun Prairie High School Field House. All Sun Prairie middle school and high school bands play. Raffle tickets available at event
    • April 20, 7 PM - Combo Jazz concert with Sun Prairie Jazz I, Beloit Memorial and Lake Geneva Badger Jazz Bands at Sun Prairie High School PAC. All 3 bands are 2013 Midwest Essentially Ellington finalists!!!  Raffle tickets available at event. This is a no cost event.   
    • April 21 - Jazz I will be playing at the Colonial Club Senior Prom.
    • May 5, 7:30 PM - Final farewell concert for Jazz I featuring Kyle Ketelson at CHUMS.  Raffle winners will be announced at the show!
  • Want to help the band raise the $20,000 it needs to travel to New York?  If you prefer to give a cash donation you several options:
    • Send a check to our Jazz Chairs:  Lisa Biegel - Jazz Chair, 6771 Moonlight Circle, Sun Prairie, WI 53590. Make check payable to SPASD with SPHS Jazz on the memo line.  You will receive a confirmation letter and receipt so please make sure to include your name/address
